Ich mag Sommer
Gestrickt habe in den letzten Tagen wegen der Hitze eher weniger. Da hat mein Kreislauf so verrückt gespielt, dass ich gar nichts gemacht habe. Montag im Schwimmbad und abends habe ich gestrickt, und mein Beutezug im Bastelladen und bei Karstadt war auch erfolgreich - jede Menge schönes neues Material gekauft. Gestern aber war es nicht ganz so heiß und meine Hände nicht so schwitzig, und ich konnte einige Mustersätze vom Branching-Out-Schal stricken. Es fehlen noch drei Mustersätze, dann kann es an das zusammennähen gehen. Gespannt wird nächste Woche, wenn mein Mann auf Geschäftsreise ist und ich sein Bett benutzen kann. Außerdem kann ich dann gleich beide Schals auf einmal spannen.
Andere Fortschritte sind eine fertige Pastell-Socke und eine fertige Baby-Socke. Bei der zweiten Babysocke ist schon die Fersenwand fertig. Es gibt Fortschritte, aber es geht langsam.
I love summer. Even if this means I didn't knit that much lately because of the heat. Tuesday my blood circulation wasn't really fit, and so was I. No knitting. On monday I fit in some knitting time at the checkpoint of the swimming club, and in the evening. I also went to the crafts shop and to Karstadt and got some beads and lots of notions for more beaded markers. Yesterday it wasn't that hot, so I could knit several repeats of Branching Out. Three repeats to go, then I can kitchener the halves together. I'll block both scarves next week, when I can use hubbies bed, because he'll be on a business trip for a few days. This way I can block both scarves at the same time.
Other progress: First sock of the Pastel socks is finished. The first of the Baby socks, and the heel flap of the second is finished, too. So there is progress, but slowly.

Immer mal wieder
kommt ein Buch von Amazon an. Ich habe sie gar nicht alle hier verzeichnet, u. a. ein Strickkrimi, ein Strickroman, aber auch "richtige" Strickbücher und ein Spinnbuch. Nachdem gestern mein Mann einen Packen Bücher bekommen hat, war ich heute dran. Diesmal kamen gleich 2 Bücher auf einmal, nämlich Slip Stitch Knitting von Roxana Bartlett und A Handspindle Treasury von Spin-Off. Beide sind klasse, zumindest vom oberflächlichen Durchsehen. Ich freu mich drauf, noch mehr drin zu schmökern. Jedenfalls kann ich jetzt schon sagen, dass alle, die das Oktober-Muster vom MuSoKal mochten, auf jeden Fall das Buch von Roxana Bartlett kennen sollten.

Yesterday my husband received a package, but today it was my turn. This time there were two books in the package, Slip Stitch Knitting by Roxana Bartlett and A Handspindle Treasury by Spin-Off. Both are very good, as far as I can tell from just browsing a bit. I'm looking forward to actually reading them. What I can tell however, is that everyone who liked the October Pattern of the Mustersocken Knitalong will want the Book by Roxana Bartlett.
