Endlich wieder Schal!
Gestern war mal wieder so ein Tag. Morgens bin ich 2 Stunden lang Auto gefahren, dazu noch anstrengendes Frauentreffen. Mittags habe ich noch gekocht und dann wollte ich ein Nickerchen machen. Das Nickerchen dauerte 3 geschlagene Stunden! Naja, Ich habe es wohl gebraucht. So bin ich am Nachmittag also zu nix gekommen.
Nachdem ich den Schlaf nachgeholt hatte, habe ich dann weiter am Branching-out-Schal gestrickt (aus der Frühjahrs-Knitty. Ich habe jetzt 18 Mustersätze, zwei davon sind heute morgen entstanden. Ich brauche schon nicht mehr so häufig ins Muster zu gucken, aber ganz auswendig kann ich es noch nicht. Ungefähr 1/4 Std. brauche ich für einen Mustersatz, wenn ich wirklich Ruhe habe und nicht unterbrochen werde.
Und ich bin ganz glücklich, denn das Garn (100 g Estivo von Lana Grossa) wird reichen. Ich habe vom ersten Knäuel noch etwas übrig, und trotzdem schon die Länge erreicht, die ich mindestens für eine Schalhälfte benötige, nämlich 60 cm. Also werde ich aus dem Material, das ursprünglich für *einen* Schal gedacht war, zwei herausbekommen.
Und natürlich werde ich eine kleine Änderung vornehmen: Ich werde von beiden Enden des Schals zur Mitte stricken und im Maschenstich verbinden. Ich mag Symmetrie, und ich bin der Meinung, dass es besser aussehen wird.
Yesterday was just one of those days. Still a bit wooshy in the head from the flu, but not too much I worked hard in the morning. After lunch I wanted to take a nap and slept for three hours in a row. Well, no work done in the afternoon that way.
But after catching up with sleep I could manage to knit some on the Branching out Scarf from the spring edition of Knitty. There are now 18 repeats (I knit 2 of them this morning). I don't need to refert to the pattern that often any more, but I can't do without the pattern yet. I need a quarter of an hour for one repeat, but only when it is really quiet and nobody interrupts me.
I am really happy, because this is still the first ball (of 2 Balls Lana Grossa Estivo), and theres is some to go, and the minimum length I need for half a scarf (=60 cm) is done! I had several starts with that yarn that I frogged because I didn't like what it looked like. Two colors of the same yarn (I couldn't decide which one I preferred over the other, so I took both and planned to combine both colors in one nice cuddly scarf - it looked ok when I held the balls together) that when knitted up didn't match. Now I use only each color for its own scarf, which is looking much better. And I'm so happy that with the branching out pattern I'll get two of them!
I will of course make a slight change to the pattern (never let a pattern alone!). I will knit from both ends and graft the center together. I prefer symmetry, I think it will look better.
