Das neue Paar
wird aus einem mir unbekannten Opal-Garn gestrickt - keine Farb- und Partienummer. Es ist keine Streifenvariante, eher Flecken (Pastellfarben), aber ich muss erst noch ein bisschen glatt re stricken, ehe ich weiß, was sich da ergibt. Denn ich habe bisher nur das Bündchen und 1 R re gestrickt. Die Socken werden für dieselbe Person wie die vorhergehenden und sind Auftragssocken.
The new pair of Socks I cast on yesterday is knitted from a ball of Opal without a color- or dye bath number. So I have no clue as to whether there is a name for the color in Germany. It is pastels, and non-striping, but more variegated sort of colorway. We'll see how it looks after I knit a few more rows in stickinette. Right now there is the ribbing and only one knit row. As most of the time I use my normal sock pattern, top down, ribbed cuff, everything else in stockinette, traditional easy adaptable flap heel/band toe pattern in my head I use for most of my selfpatterning stuff. The socks are for the same person as the ones I just finished, and were orderd by a friend.

Auch die zweite
Sockenspitze ist gut über die Bühne gegangen, und obwohl die Flimmerkiste an war (ein Hund namens Beethoven - den kannte ich noch nicht), habe ich die Sockenspitze ohne größere Fehler geschafft. Das ist für mich eher selten, aber es ist auch eher selten bei mir, dass ich am Anfang des Fernsehabends eine Sockenspitze zu stricken habe, vielleicht lag es daran. Jedenfalls habe ich das nächste Paar gleich angeschlagen, mehr dazu im nächsten Eintrag.
The second toe went smooth, even if I was watching TV. The movie was good, and still I got a toe without lethal mistakes (read lethal as in resulting in ribbing back). Thats unusual, but perhaps this can be accounted for by the fact that I started the evening doing the toe. Normally it is past 10 pm when I start a toe and that simply is too late. I don't have enough concentration at that time of the day. So I finished the toe early and started the next pair, just as I thought I would. More on the next pair in the next entry.
