Missgeschick
Das hatte ich mir ganz anders vorgestellt: heute haben wir die Kinder zu den Großeltern gebracht und Ralf hat ab Montag Urlaub. Das heißt nicht, dass wir keine Arbeit hätten, denn wir wollen unsere Wohnung so umräumen, dass wir zwei Kinderzimmer bekommen. Dafür muss das Arbeitszimmer aufgelöst werden. Nicht ganz einfach. Wir wollen auch all unseren Kram mal sichten und aussortieren.
Tja, und dann waren wir bei den Großeltern und haben die Brombeersträucher geplündert - köstlich. Und ich gehe einen Schritt rückwärts, achte nicht auf die Stufe und verknacks mir ordentlich den Fuß und das Knie hat auch noch ein bisschen abbekommen. Autsch - da hat die Umwelt doch ein paar Schimpfworte abbekommen, weil es wirklich ziemlich weh getan hat. Ich kann noch humpeln, aber wenn ich das Bein nicht in der waagerechten habe, tut es weh. Am schlimmsten war der Heimweg. Unebene Fahrbahn, und der Fuß unten. Das gab nochmal ein paar Schimpfworte. Jetzt habe ich ein paar Ibus intus und dazu den Fuß hochgelegt und mit Eis gekühlt. Schwellung scheint bisher minimal zu sein. Große Sprünge kann ich natürlich nicht machen. Mal sehen, wie es morgen ist.
Ich habe beschlossen, dass ich heute nicht ins Krankenhaus gehe, denn es kann eigentlich nichts gebrochen sein, da alles noch gut mobil ist. Selbst wenn eine OP nötig wäre, vor Montag würden die doch nix machen. Und deshalb das Wochenende im Krankenhaus verbringen - nee danke. Schmerzmittel habe ich da, Voltaren auch, Kühlpacks ebenso - sehr viel mehr könnten die im Krankenhaus auch nicht machen. Und hier versorgt mich mein Mann, der kann das viel besser als die im Krankenhaus. Also werde ich heute nacht eine Beinwell-Packung machen, und dann erstmal abwarten. Ich halte euch auf dem Laufenden.
Das gibt jede Menge Strickzeit in der nächsten Zeit!
That's not how I imagined to start our vacation. Today we took the kids to the Grandparents (His parents). Hubby is off work from Monday. That doesn't mean we don't have work - we want to change our flat so our kids get their own rooms - we have to sacrifice the office for that (I'm working from home). This will be quite some work. Plus we want to toss superfluous stuff. Lots of more work.
So we arrived at the Inlaws' and plundered the blackberry bushes, yummi, I tell you. And I take a step backwards and sprain my ankle on a low step - also my knee was affected a bit. Big Ouch - the surroundings had to put up with a few expletives, I'm afraid. This was a really painful experience. I can still hobble a bit, and if I prop up the leg and don't move I don't have pain any more. I swallowed a few painkillers, and put on an ice pack. It didn't swell until now. The worst was getting home. Foot down, bumps in the autobahn made it really bad. More expletives, I'm afraid. Well, I can't dance or something, I'll see how I feel tomorrow.
I decided against a visit at the hospital. It shouldn't be broken, because I can still hobble around quite well, even mastered hopping up the stairs to the third floor (no lift). Even if they'd have to operate on it they wouldn't do anything before Monday, I know how that works. I'll not get bored there during the weekend. I have enough painkillers at home, plus Voltaren, and enough icepacks to keep the foot cool. They wouldn't do anything else at the hospital. And caring for me - hubby is the best carer I can have. For the night I'll put a comfrey compress on the foot - it is said to work wonders. If on Monday the pain is still very bad I can still go to the Doc's. I'll keep you all updated.

Elf Mustersätze
sind es gestern insgesamt geworden, das ist eine Menge, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Reihen immer länger werden. Wie bei einem normalen Ärmel nehme ich in jeder 6. Reihe 2 M zu. Nicht mehr lange, und ich erweitere das Muster um einen weiteren Mustersatz.
Und jetzt zeige ich euch mal wieder ein Bild von dem Teil, auch wenn es von Anfang Juli stammt // I'm showing you a photo of the shrug, even if this shot is from the beginning of July:
Das ist der erste Ärmel. Kurz nach der 2. Erweiterung des Musters. // This is the first sleeve, a bit after the 2nd expansion of the pattern.
Und jetzt das Muster nochmal näher // a close up of the pattern:
Ich weiß, dass die meisten von euch schon einmal das Pfauenmuster gesehen habt. Aber meins halt noch nicht.
Ganz gewöhnliches Pfauenmuster halt, aber mit einer edlen Merino-Seide-Mischung, die meine Tochter mir am liebsten abschwätzen würde.
Eleven repeats got done yesterday. Considering that the rows grow longer this is a lot. As for a normal sleeve I add two stitches every 6 rows. Only a few rows now and I'll expand the pattern for the second time.
I know that most of you have seen Feather and Fan stitch already. But you didn't see mine yet. Just plain Feather and Fan, but knitted from a sumptious Meriono-Silk blend, which my daugther would like to talk out of me.
