Vor einiger Zeit bin ich über die Spüllappen-Geschichte gestoßen. Das sind so die Anfänger-Projekte in den englischsprachigen Teilen der Welt, so wie wir als Kinder Topflappen gehäkelt haben. Und da gibt es doch tatsächlich eine Gruppe, die sich als Knitalong nur damit beschäftigt:

These are my first two dish cloths of my life. In Germany we have a different first fibercraft gift for Mom: crocheted potholders (in Germany you usually learn how to crothet first, then how to knit). There is no tradition of children knitting dishcloths in Germany. So here am I, accomplished knitter of 37 years, showing my first two dishcloths.

I find that these are nice fast projects, ideal to try out a new technique. BTW, the white one really *did* use a new for me technique, since I use a "real" cable crossing in crossing two stitches instead of twisting the stitches. I have tried the left slanting twist, but not the right slanting one up till now. You see, even accomplished knitters learn new tricks!
