Endlich ein Paar!
Das ging jetzt schneller als erwartet: Der zweite Topflappen ist auch fertig.

Jedenfalls zog sich der zweite doch sehr. Es ist mehr Arbeit, als es aussieht. Und Norwegerstricken scheint auch nicht wirklich mein Ding zu sein. Ich habe ja nur noch zwei Projekte liegen, die auch in Norwegertechnik sind.
Jedenfalls werde ich von dieser Sorte kein zweites Paar stricken. Ich werden mal noch ein bisschen was anderes probieren für das zweite Paar, das ich brauche. Ich sage nicht, dass ich nie wieder Norweger stricke. Dafür sind die Ergebnisse zu schön. Außerdem werde ich, wenn möglich, beim nächsten mal in der Runde stricken. Vieeel einfacher.
Auf dem Bild sieht man vielleicht auch besser, dass ich die Rückseite und die Vorderseite nicht gleich gemacht habe. Sonst hätte ich ja viermal dasselbe stricken müssen. Nö, nicht mein Ding.
Und dann habe ich noch den Waschlappen wieder aufgeribbelt, den ich angefangen hatte - blaues Garn und in der englischen Strickweise. Wirklich nicht mein Ding. Es wird total labberig, kaum Kontrolle über die Fadenspannung und so. Wenn ich englisch stricke, dann nur bei Norwegertechnik. Und da reichen meine Fähigkeiten für den Hausgebrauch. Aber doch nicht rechts-links-Muster, wo man jedes mal, wenn man zwischen linken und rechten Maschen wechselt, dann auch noch den Faden nach vorne legen muss.
Und jetzt? Einen Lappen mit Leuchtturm habe ich noch auf dem Plan, dann Topflappen mit re-li-Muster und Herzchen drauf. Mal sehen. Diese Mini-Projekte können ganz schön süchtig machen. Ach, und dann war da ja noch der rundgestrickte Waschlappen mit Blätterkante, den ich so genial finde.
These are the potholders I've been working on. Quite some work for such small things. The second one really *did* take a while. Fair Isle knitting doesn't seem to be my thing. And I have only two other WIPs using Fair Isle technique. At least I'll not knit another pair of potholders in this way. For the second pair I need I'll try out something else. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I won't do any Fair Isle in future projects. The results are soo pretty. But I'm sure my next fair Isle project will be knitted in the round. Much easier.
On the photo you can see that I knit a different pattern on the back. I wasn't keen on knitting four times the same!
And then I frogged the facecloth I was working on in which I used the English method (born and bred Continental) of knitting. Without much success - everything very floppy and irregular, almost no tension control. This way of knitting just isn't for me. I don't have the patience to relearn. If I'll be knitting that way ever again, it will be in Fair Isle projects, where you just need to know how to knit, no purls. For this my feeble experiences will have to do. But the facecloth was a knit-purl pattern, and in English knitting you have to put the thread in front or to the back in an extra motion. Mucho too complicated.
And now? There's a facecloth with a lighthouse on my agenda, then potholders using a knit-purl pattern (I'll make a heart). We'll see. These mini-projects of cloths are really addicting. Ah, yes, I forgot the round dishcloth with a leaf border, that I like so much.
