Gewachsen
ist gestern der Wavy, über drei Mustersätze habe ich geschafft. Ich finde das Muster wirklich genial - schlicht, einfach, effektiv. Und im Gegensatz zu einem Schal 3 re / 3 li überhaupt nicht langweilig. Weder zum Stricken, noch zum Begucken. Nicht umsonst gibt es ja schon den 2. Wavy-Knitalong! Den ich jetzt endlich mal links auch mit eintragen werde. Genauso wie den Mütz-Along von Aud. Wo ich eigentlich sogar für beide Alongs was mache, nämlich eine Wavy-Mütze. Aber erst den Schal fertig.
Ach, übrigens komme ich wohl mit 2 Knäulen zu 50 g hin, eventuell werde ich noch ein drittes anreißen. Aber ich liebe kurze Schals, sie müssen einmal ganz um meinen Hals herum passen und dann rechts und links ungefähr bis zur Taille reichen. So ca. 1,20 - 1,30 m Gesamtlänge. Und meist werden die Dinger ja noch von selbst länger. Reicht völlig. Für mich jedenfalls. Für andere (Erwachsene) stricke ich meist mindestens 1,50 m, da ja die Mode im Moment eher lange Schals favorisiert.
Yesterday Wavy grew quite a bit, more than 3 repeats. I find this pattern really ingenious - simple, unostentatious, effective. And contrary to a scarf in simple 3/3 rib this is anything but tedious. Neither when you work at it, nor when you look at it. That's why the Germans hold their 2nd Wavy-Along already (the first one was after the pattern was out late in 2004). Which I will put on the left column asap. As well as the German Hat-along (Mütz-Along) by Aud. For which I'm doing a hat that counts for two alongs, because it is the Wavy-Hat. But I can only start this one after finishing the scarf.
Speaking of which, I think I will only need two 50 g balls, maybe a bit more, but not much. That's because I love short scarves, they only have to fit around my neck once, and then to my waistline. That's about 1.2 - 1.3 m length. And these things stretch anyway. For me, at least, that's enough. For other grown ups I usually knit longer scarves, at least 1,5 m, because fashion seems to prefer them on the longer side right now.
